Formally organized in October 1987
by a group of public relations and advertising executives headed
by Aurelio “Reli” German, Agents International, Inc. began its
operations in February 1988, initially as a promotions and
special projects company.
In the early part of 1989, Agents branched out into public
relations, with National Steel Corporation as its first major
client. More PR accounts followed, and since then, the company
has concentrated on this field and is now considered one of the
leading public relations agencies in the country.
Agents was responsible for the media launching of Extelcom
cellular communications equipment and services in 1990.
In the May 1992 elections, Agents prepared and implemented the
public relations and publicity plan for four candidates who ran
for public office. All won, including Senator Joseph Estrada,
who had made a bid for the vice-presidency.
In 1994, Agents entered into a working affiliation with the
Washington, D.C. office of Edelman Public Relations, the sixth
largest PR company in the world. In the same year, the agency
took care of the publicity for launching Citibank’s Citiphone
project.
In 1995, Agents handled the PR campaign of five political
candidates, all of whom won. And in the May 1998 elections,
Agents took an active role in the campaign that helped
Vice-President Estrada become the thirteenth President of the
Philippines.
The company assisted in the launching activities and publicity
efforts for Microsoft's Windows 95 System in August 1995. In the
same year, Agents landed the PR account of Fort Bonifacio
Development Corporation, the company that developed the
214-hectare Bonifacio Global City.
In the 2004 national elections, Agents was tapped to handle the
public relations campaign of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
and the administration’s senatorial slate.
Agents has a close professional relationship with the
publishers, corporate executives, editors, working staff,
columnists and commentators in the print and broadcast media.
